TAG MOLLE Chest rig.

This is a PALs compatible chest rig with with a fold away bib and the option of setting the straps up in either an X or H configuration. Its a simpler version of Eagles RRV.

The body is 16 channels wide with 3 rows of 16 channels and 1 row of 14 at the top.

The bib has 2 rows of 6 channels and a top row of 4 channels (due to the stitching you lose 2 channels, YMMV).

The shoulder straps are fixed and have PALs webbing on them (a feature I like). At the ends are fastex buckles which some will like and some won't. I would have preferred ladder lock buckles, this would have made it possible to adjust them when wearing it.

It fastens/adjusts at the back with a large fastex. This can be adjusted from either side but you need to think about what you are doing or the buckle will be against your spine (not a problem with armour). I had reservations about this set up but quite like it, it makes it easier to adjust over armour.

The bib folded away. The velcro makes it hard to access the pocket while worn.

The bib is held by velcro straps at the back.

The bib has a small pocket, thats great for batteries.

You lose one channel at each end due to the cut of the chest rig. I tied some para cord there and attached the pouch to that with no problems.
An Onpatrol Minimi pouch looped through the paracord.

                                                      Afghan set up.

Bib in use. You can slot a knife into the map pocket.

I used this set up in Kabul for patrols and found it to work well with armour.
The only problem I had was using it when I got back without armour, the shoulder straps are wider apart than usual. Those with smaller chests might find it uncomfortable.
